I am Nohea Booth. I am a freshman at Millikan High School and a first year wrestler on their girls team. I fell in love with wrestling the first day I stepped on to the mat. This had to do with wrestling itself and the people connected to it. Within the past 10 months I have gained a family, not just a team. The beauty of this sport has made me want to capture it in every way I can and that is where the idea for this website grew from. I began taking pictures of my team in the beginning of our 2023-2024 season with any camera I could get, borrowing from older kids and the schools until i got my own, I began going to tournaments I wasn’t competing in to photograph my teammates and the smile that my photos brought to not only others but myself pushed me to want to spread them even further. After my season had ended I decided to start a instagram (LBC_photographer) to publicly post my pictures that I had been taking and distributing to athletes all season but I felt like there was a story behind each picture which brought me to make this website, the long beach buzz. I want to be able to highlight the incredible athletes that Long Beach has to offer and I feel that each of their stories are worth hearing.
