Welcome to the Long Beach Buzz, This is a student and athlete-run website to publish articles on Events, Tournaments, and School topics in the Long Beach area. This website is directly connected to LBC_photographer, the Instagram where I’m able to publish all of my photos of our local athletes and coaches. These articles are an outlet for student voices in our community and to spread the achievements of Long Beach wrestlers to anyone willing to listen.

I am Nohea Booth. I am a freshman at Millikan High School and a first-year wrestler on their girl’s team. I fell in love with wrestling the first day I stepped onto the mat. This had to do with wrestling itself and the people connected to it. Within the past 10 months, I have gained a family, not just a team. The beauty of this sport has made me want to capture it in every way I can, and that is where the idea for this website grew from. I began taking pictures of my team at the beginning of our 2023-2024 season with any camera I could get, borrowing from older kids and the schools until I got my own, I began going to tournaments I wasn’t competing in to photograph my teammates and the smile that my photos brought to not only others but myself pushed me to want to spread them even further. After my season had ended I decided to start an Instagram (LBC_photographer) to publicly post the pictures that I had been taking and distributing to athletes all season but, I felt like there was a story behind each picture which brought me to make this website, the long beach buzz. I want to be able to highlight the incredible athletes that Long Beach has to offer: I feel that each of their stories is worth hearing.
